Please note that the generally accepted size definition for a "teacup" sized poodle seems to have evolved a bit over the years. The majority of teacup poodle breeders I have contacted use 4 1/2 lbs, as opposed to 4 lbs, as the upper weight limit for an adult teacup poodle. Although this definition can be seen as arbitrary, I have chosen to modify my own description, so as to keep some degree of uniformity amongst teacup poodle breeders. Adult poodle weight is often more a function of feeding/eating habits than of genetics; not much different than humans with bad diets that are overweight. The "8 inch or below" height limit is still the generally accepted qualification for a teacup sized adult poodle.
