TO "TEACUP" OR NOT TO "TEACUP"...
This is a Standard Poodle pup, squaring off against a tiny teacup poodle, who has probably reached his adult size. This picture gives you some idea of the decades of breeding it took to downsize the poodle to what we know todayas teacup sized. So, you think you want to buy a poodle! Make sure you do your homework first. Find out as much as you can about the poodle and visit with people who have been owned by poodles before. Become familiar with the traits and temperament of the breed, and the care required by these amazing little "people in poodle suits". Remember, these are fairly high maintenance dogs. Next, consider some of the pros and cons of having a poodle in your life. A knowledgeable poodle owner is a good poodle owner. My first impression of the poodle could not have been more off-base. What I first thought of as little fou-fou balls of fluff, quickly became deserving of respect as proud and hearty dogs, devoted to the protection and companionship of their owners.
